A former Tring Park student is set to become a major star after winning a leading role in George Lucas’ Star Wars VII.

Starring alongside original cast members including Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford, Daisy Ridley is rumoured to be playing the part of Han Solo and Princess Leia’s daughter.
Daisy, aged 21, studied musical theatre at the performing arts school after starting in the Prep Department in 2001, moving on to study dance and performance foundation. She performed throughout her time at the school, most notably in Gershwin’s Crazy for You and, in 2010, The Boy Friend, when she played the role of Nancy at school and at the Shaw Theatre, London. She later appeared in Mr Selfirdge and Casualty.

Tring Park principal Stefan Anderson said, ‘We aim to nurture and prepare our students for long-lasting careers and we are delighted at Daisy’s news.’
