A STUDENT from Stevenage finished runner-up in a national film making competition.

A STUDENT from Stevenage has finished runner-up in a national film making competition. Alex Crowley, 17, who is studying interactive media at Hertfordshire Regional College, finished second in In the can a competition that challenged young people to make a film to help keep their peers safe on the roads.
Alex says, Ive recently started driving lessons and have been looking into road safety online. I saw the competition and felt I could make a film expressing the issue of using a mobile while driving.
Stuart Pile, the county councils executive member for highways and transport, said, Many congratulations to Alex on his thought-provoking film. This is what makes the In the can campaign such a great idea young people understand how to communicate with their peers and we hope to learn from the approaches they have taken.
