SIR John Lawes School in Harpenden is thought to be the first school in Hertfordshire and one of only about five other schools in the country to have an outdoor gym.
The equipment was recently built at the school after staff and parents raised 12,000 towards the 21,500 cost through a number of fundraising activities, including a sponsored sky dive by the Head of PE, Andrew Battersby and Assistant Head of Year 12, Kenny Alexander.
School spokesman Chris Wright said, Sport and physical fitness haves been at the heart of the SJL ethos for many years now and the school is always looking for new ways to provide students with fun activities that will improve their health and fitness levels.
