Relish Real Burgers, St Albans and Potters Bar

With two sites in Hertfordshire so far, Relish create comforting menus with a dedicated brunch menu of French toast, pancakes and more (St Albans restaurant only) but the real star of the show is the burger menu. The Mighty Mexican burger comes with guacamole, jalapenos, sour cream, spicy tomato relish, tomato, lettuce and red onion; or why not try a Tasty Thai fish burger made with salmon and prawns, ginger, chilli, lime and fresh coriander topped with lettuce, spring onion, sweet chilli sauce and mayonnaise? With tempting sides of halloumi chips, or sweet potato fries and many more, there are sweet shakes to enjoy too!

The Woolpack, Hertford

The Woolpack is the self-proclaimed “burger specialist” of Hertford, serving burgers such as the BBQ Hog burger made with pulled pork and emmental cheese. With plenty of extra toppings including grilled vegetables, beer braised onions, habanero salsa, halloumi, bacon and much more, you can curb those hunger pangs with your perfect burger at The Woolpack.

Burger Revolution, Bishop’s Stortford

Only locally sourced beef goes into the burgers at Burger Revolution in Bishop Stortford’s Market Square. Try a rib eye steak burger with chilli jam, tomato and pickles; a spiced lamb kofta burger with minted yoghurt, green leaves, jalapenos and pickles; or a pea, sweet corn and broad bean burger with water cress, mustard, tomato jam, feta, beetroot and cumin yoghurt. What better to complement your burger than a milkshake in flavours such as banana, salted caramel and peanut butter.

Lambert’s Original Hamburgers, Stevenage

With weekly changing special burgers that have included creations such as the Fat Boy with two brisket and bacon patties, cheddar cheese and topped homemade apple and onion chutney in a soft brioche bun, Lambert’s Original Hamburgers in Stevenage makes burgers as fun as they should be!

Taste Bar & Grill, Stevenage

Think big burgers and refreshing cocktails at Taste Bar & Grill on the high street in Stevenage. Stacks of onion rings on top of tantalising patties with soft buns and sides of fries make these burgers something special.

Arnold’s Diner, Hoddesdon

For an authentic American diner experience, head to Arnold’s Diner on Stanstead Road in Hoddsedon. Sides of deep-fried mozzarella fingers with sweet cranberry dip; nachos with melted cheese, guacamole, sour cream and tomato salsa; and loaded potato poppers with Cajun spice, melted swiss cheese and bacon accompany burgers such as the New York Jack with two 6oz burgers with double Swiss cheese and smoked bacon. Top that all off with a strawberry, chocolate or banana milkshake and you will feel like you’ve stepped back to 1950s USA.

The Snug, various locations

With Hertfordshire locations in Hitchin, St Albans, Hertford and Ware, there is sure to be a Snug bar near you! Burgers at the Snug are served in a brioche bun with skinny fries and house coleslaw on the side. Creative toppings include Bloody Mary salsa, red chillies, jalapenos, chilli sauce, lettuce, tomato and red onion for the spicy Devil Burger; or Bloody Mary salsa, avocado, nacho chips, soured cream and jalapenos with lettuce, tomato and red onion on the Nacho Burger.

The Cock Inn, St Albans

St Peters Street in St Albans is home to popular pub The Cock Inn, which has three tempting burgers available. There is the Greek-inspired lamb, mint and tzatziki burger; the classic Gourmet Beef Burger or the Chicken Caesar Burger. You can elevate your burger with cheese, a fried egg or bacon for an extra 75p. All burgers come in a brioche bun with lettuce, tomato, red onion, sweet pickle, beer battered onion ring and fries.

The Artichoke, Croxley Green

Pub of the Year at the 2016 Hertfordshire Life Food and Drink Awards, The Artichoke in Croxley Green is already a firm favourite for locals and visitors alike. Burger lovers will be happy with the Ultimate Burger, comprised of two patties, bacon, cheese, a fried egg, frickles (fried pickles), onion rings, lettuce, tomato and harissa mayo served in a brioche bun with salad garnish, special sauce and fries. Phew!
