Originating in the early 1900s from Anna the 7th Duchess of Bedford, Afternoon Tea was traditionally served with bread and butter to avoid hunger between lunch and dinner. It quickly became a British norm with the addition of fancy pastries and scones!
Our Traditional Afternoon Tea is served on a beautiful tiered stand and includes a selection of delicious sandwiches and freshly baked scones served with Devonshire clotted cream and strawberry preserve. These are accompanied by homemade sweet delights and your choice of Newby Loose Leaf Tea or coffee. Afternoon tea at Tewin Bury Farm is a hugely popular affair. Located in the Williams Bar & Restaurant, guests can enjoy scrumptious homemade scones with Devonshire clotted cream and strawberry jam. If that doesn’t satisfy your sweet tooth they pair scones with seasonal cakes from its own pastry kitchen and delicious finger sandwiches- all washed down with a good measure of tea or a glass of bubbles if you prefer!
Williams’ Bar & Restaurant is the perfect location for a relaxing afternoon tea, in the summer months (weather permitting) guests can enjoy dining on the terrace bar which looks out to all the happenings on the farm.
Tewin Bury is excited to develop the new ‘Cowshed’ Bar & Restaurant (originally a working cow shed at Tewin Bury Farm) which will offer guests the same delicious tea and cakes in a new decadent venue – due to open October 2018.
