Housed in Brocket Hall’s former hunting lodge, Auberge du Lac enjoys an idyllic lakeside setting overlooking the beautiful 543-acre country estate and the Hall itself.
With numerous awards to its name, Auberge du Lac is a five-star restaurant providing the highest standards in cuisine and service.
Whether it is al fresco dining in summer on the water’s edge, or an intimate environment in the winter months, Auberge du Lac creates the right mood for every occasion. With a beautiful lounge, picturesque terrace, and a host of tastefully decorated private dining rooms, the restaurant regularly caters for private dinners, lunchtime gatherings, weddings, birthday parties and other celebrations.
Matt Edmonds is the Head Chef at Auberge du Lac, joining from previous roles as Head Chef at both Searcy’s @ The Gherkin and The Grantley Arms in Guildford. The seasons are a big inspiration behind Matt’s style of cooking – his menus are brimming with the freshest and finest ingredients available at that time of year. He is passionate about supporting local and British suppliers and he is often found foraging for wild ingredients for his dishes on the Brocket Hall Estate and in the surrounding countryside.
Ingredients sourced by Matt are not just found on the food menu at Auberge du Lac – Restaurant Manager, Pedro Miramon, has also been known to borrow from the kitchen for his drinks menu too. The signature cocktail menu currently includes one of Pedro’s brand-new creations that has taken gin infusion to the next level: The Seaweed G&T, made from fresh seaweed that was originally sourced for one of Matt’s beef dishes.
