How did you get started in business? I always wanted to work for myself and build a business from scratch and also offer something different to the high-cost, low-quality products sold by the big retailers. I was working for a local company when an opportunity to take over the business came along. With my skillset and passion in bespoke furniture manufacturing, I grabbed it with both hands and never looked back.

What’s your motivation?

Positive customer feedback is what we constantly strive for. It’s the best motivator for the whole team and we never tire of hearing from our customers that ‘they wouldn’t change a thing’. I also love managing our Hitchin workshop – seeing the team create beautiful bespoke products that will help form the heart of a home.

The biggest challenges? A kitchen is one of our customers’ biggest investments, so it’s vital we listen to what they say but also interpret what they don’t! Our job is to visualise their dream and make it work. Also, keeping up with innovations and technologies – we develop our design and manufacturing so customers receive the best experience and are offered the latest trends.

Most valuable business lessons? Every customer wants something different, confirming my belief that one size definitely does not fit all!

Working with good people (including family) makes a long working day seem a lot shorter.

Have faith in what you do. It will show in the end product.

Don’t be afraid of taking a risk – seize opportunities as they arise.
