Wallace and Gromit

Scarecrows lining the streets and gardens of Flamstead helped raise money for charity

FROM television and film favourites such as Wallace and Gromit, The Simpsons and Shrek to scary witches and classical statues - there was an array of talent on offer at the sixth annual Flamstead Scarecrow Festival.
Held to raise money for the village church and the Herts Multiple Sclerosis Society, the weekend-long festival proved as popular as ever with thousands of visitors keen to vote for their favourite scarecrow residents out of well over 100 on display - some of which were even on sale.
A signposted scarecrow trail took visitors on a tour and after the voting was completed ten of the displays were picked as winners. Other events were held throughout
the weekend including cake sales,
craft stalls, a bell ringing demonstration, Punch and Judy, folk dancing and live music. Photos of all the scarecrows can be viewed at
