This summer will offer a treat for music lovers with Classic Ibiza and The Great British Prom coming to Knebworth House for the first time

A feast of music is promised this summer when Knebworth House hosts a weekend music extravaganza featuring two live orchestras on August 19 and 20.

On Saturday, the Urban Soul Orchestra and DJ Goldierocks will perform some of the biggest dance tracks from the past 20 years, then on Sunday, The Great British Prom featuring the National Symphony Orchestra will play iconic Last Night of the Proms-style music celebrating the British Isles. The weekend will conclude with a stunning fireworks finale, choreographed to music.

Urban Soul Orchestra will start Classic Ibiza with chill-out set featuring classic Ibiza tracks including, Nightmare on Wax’s Les Nuits, Massive Attack’s Teardrop, Groove Armada’s At the River and William Orbit’s version of Barber’s Adagio for Strings.

Goldierocks will take over the stage during the interval with a creative mix of top Ibiza tunes. Her reputation as an international DJ and broadcaster has seen her establish a celebrity following.

As the sun goes down, the Urban Soul Orchestra will return with vocalists Jina Burrows, Roo Savill and Maxamillion Barnes-Davy, bringing their own flavour of Ibiza. Enjoy hugely popular club anthems Fat Boy Slim’s Right Here, Right Now, Faithless’ Insomnia, and Swedish House Mafia’s Don’t You Worry Child.

‘This is a really unique event that sees a contemporary orchestra play live with a DJ and vocalists,’ says Lisa Ward, director of Revival Productions and event organiser. ‘The Urban Soul Orchestra is truly on top of its game, having played with some of the world’s best-known names in the dance music industry, including Groove Armada, M People and Soul II Soul.’

The following evening, The National Symphony Orchestra will bring The Great British Prom to Knebworth House. Expect lots of flag waving with Prom classics including the Dambusters March, Rule Britannia and Land of Hope and Glory. Classical Brit award-winning Welsh male vocal group Only Men Aloud will perform Welsh classics and a traditional pipe band will strike up Scottish favourites.

Lisa Ward said she was delighted to be returning to Knebworth having organised similar concerts some years ago at the venue.

‘The event promises to be a celebratory evening featuring some of Britain’s best artists and musicians playing some truly iconic pieces from across our wonderful country,’ she added.

Visitors can bring a picnic or enjoy the food and drinks available. Free parking will be available for both coaches and cars.

A limited number of early bird tickets are available now at a reduced price of £30 (£35 after).

For full event details and tickets visit revival-productions.co.uk or call the event box office on 01630 674342.
