Expansion for Silkwood Furniture

Hertfordshire-based kitchen specialists Silkwood Furniture have expanded their retail presence as they open a brand new retail showroom in the heart of Welwyn Garden City this month

Bucking downbeat manufacturing and retail trends, Hertfordshire-based kitchen specialists Silkwood Furniture have expanded their retail presence as they open a brand new retail showroom in the heart of Welwyn Garden City this month.

The new shop has been carefully planned to showcase some of Silkwoods individually designed and handcrafted kitchens, and is testament to the success of the family-owned business. It was opened by the Mayor of Welwyn Garden City, Councillor Carl Storer on January 6, and is on Wigmores North, facing the entrance to the John Lewis car park.

The expansion creates new jobs both for kitchen specialists in the retail showroom and for highly experienced craftsmen in the workshops just outside the market town of Buntingford.

We are delighted to be in a position to expand, especially given the slow economic conditions, Derek Neil , director of Silkwood Furniture commented. We already have a large number of clients in Welwyn Garden City and surrounding areas, people who recognise that Silkwood offer something really special, yet within reasonable budgets, and we look forward to continuing to serve the area from our new showroom.

Walking into the new space, it is easy to understand how Silkwood can turn your kitchen into the heart of your home it is reflected in each beautiful, bespoke design, turning every clients dream kitchen into a practical yet beautiful reality.

The companys free professional design service starts in the new showroom. Experienced, knowledgeable staff will discuss your requirements in depth and design your kitchen around the exact and very personal needs of your family and home.

Whether you are looking for a classic or contemporary design, painted or in solid wood, Silkwood can help.

All Silkwood kitchens are hand-built in the companys Hertfordshire based workshop, to the very highest standards. In the dedicated rural workshop, doors are framed using a variety of seasoned woods, drawers expertly made with precise dovetail joints and cabinets are strongly built and made to last a lifetime. And as you would expect, Silkwoods experienced fitters complete each installation with skill and care.

Silkwood is extremely proud of the quality of its hand-crafted kitchens, and offers the additional reassurance of Trustmark insurance backed deposit protection and a 6-year warranty.
