Balls Park is set within 63 acres of private Grade II listed parkland known as the Balls Park Estate. The magnificent grounds feature a historic grand mansion house, which is one of the most important surviving mid-17th century houses in Hertfordshire.

In its 7th year, the New Homes Gardens Awards is a unique and ground breaking environmental initiative held in association with Express Newspapers. The awards recognise and reward excellence, innovation, creativity and sustainability in the design and construction of gardens, landscapes and outdoor space around new homes.

The judges have a strict criteria when selecting their winner, including the design concept, quality of the finish, ease of maintenance and the impact it will have on wildlife.

The judges said: The garden is innovative and imaginative in a great setting. It has a fine balance of hard and soft landscaping with a good design, excellent construction and is easy to maintain.
