Call for local artists to perform at 'One Month and Counting'

Inspirational Arts and Broxbourne Council is calling for talented artists and sports groups to perform at the One Month and Counting event in Waltham Cross town centre on Saturday June 23 between 11am and 5pm.


The event will celebrate the London 2012 Games canoe slalom events at the Boroughs Lee Valley White Water Centre. It will feature local dancers, singers, musicians and sports demonstrations from local clubs. There will also be interviews with local Olympic hopefuls and guest appearances from Olympic medallists.


Last years One Year and Counting event, with Olympians David Florence and Jeanette Kwayke, attracted over 4,000 people.


Those who would like the chance to perform on the main stage are asked to send information about themselves or their group to Inspirational Arts by emailing omac@inspirationalarts.org.uk. The deadline is Friday June 1, 2012,and applicants are asked to include links to show reels, demos and photographs.


Local sports and performing arts groups are also invited to have a stand at the event even if they are not performing. Those interested should contact the Councils community development team at sw.leisure@broxbourne.gov.uk. The deadline to register interest is also Friday June 1, 2012.
