There are now just two-and-a-half weeks to go to enter the St Albans District Chamber of Commerce 2010 Community Business Awards – and Hertfordshire Life wants to hear about your favourite restaurant

THERE are just two-and-a-half weeks left to enter theSt Albans District Chamber of Commerce 2010 Community Business Awards and Hertfordshire Life wants to hear about your favourite restaurant.

The awards are recognition of the contribution of business to the community of the St Albans District. All businesses and individuals in the St Albans District are eligible to enter and the Awards will be judged by St Albans District Chamber of Commerce.

The restaurant award is sponsored by Hertfordshire Life and we are looking for you to nominate your favourite restaurant in the St Albans area. Last year's winner was Thai restaurant Bangkok Lounge in Harpenden which received an overwhelming number of nominations.

The Award is to help promote all restaurants in the district and to celebrate our good fortune in having such a fantastic choice and diverse range of good restaurants in our area.

You can submit entries via Hertfordshire Life magazine until the closing date 14th August 2010. Entries may be submitted:

Nomination forms can be downloaded from the chamber website

The top 3 restaurants from the public vote will then be judged on the following criteria:

  • Value for money

  • Expectation of the diners met

  • Cleanliness and good service

  • Overall quality

All entries will be put into a prize draw to win dinner for two at the winning restaurant as a vote incentive! So what are you waiting for!

You can nominate yourself, your business, or any other individual or business for one or more of the awards. Complete the entry form on our website and mail it to us. Alternatively send us an e-mail marked Awards containing the information in the entry form, using the following email address:

General criteria

The Awards recognise outstanding contribution to our business community. They are not based solely upon your success and achievements but also upon the beneficial impact of those achievements on the business community.

The Awards are open to all businesses whose business strategy encompasses policies and projects that have a positive impact on St Albans District. The activities should bring about economic, social or environmental benefits for the community.

Your business, or another business whom you nominate, could win one of the six awards presented at our Awards Presentation Dinner on Thursday September 30, 2010.
