Consultation work will due to start prior to the design and build of a new play area for young people in Wheathampstead which will transform an existing play space off Caesars Road.

The site will be designed by Groundwork Hertfordshire after a series of consultation sessions with local residents and youth groups to create a facility that meets local needs.

A steering group made up of representatives from St Albans City and District Council, Wheathampstead Parish Council and local residents will then consider the content and style of the new play area which will be designed to make the most of the existing landscape and natural surroundings.

The dates and times for the consultation sessions, to be hosted by Groundwork Hertfordshire at the Caesars Road site, are:

  • Saturday June 12 2010 10am to 1pm

  • Saturday July 17 2010 10am to 1pm

Caesars Road off Conquers Hill. The open space is on the right hand side of Caesars Road, after Offas Way.
