Hertfordshire top for Jubilee parties

RESIDENTS of Hertfordshire are proving to be real party people with the county coming top for the number of street parties applied for over the Jubilee weekend.

RESIDENTS of Hertfordshire are proving to be real party people with the county coming top for the number of street parties applied for over the Jubilee weekend.

At the beginning of April the figure had already reached 160 with more applications for road closures anticipated.

And St Albans looks set to be the Hertfordshire party hub this year as residents have requested over a quarter of the total applications across the county.

If you havent yet applied to have a Diamond Jubilee street party, there is still time as the deadline is May 1 but act quickly. There is no charge for closing minor roads so why not take advantage and throw a party?

Residents can submit their applications to Hertfordshire Highways at www.hertsdirect.org/diamondjubilee. Parties can be held on Sunday 3, Monday 4 or Tuesday 5 June 2012.

Have you met the Queen?

If so why not tell us your tale, send us your photos and we will publish it in the June issue of the magazine as we mark the Queens Diamond Jubilee. And dont forget to send us details of any Jubilee celebrations your community is holding so we can include those as well.

Email news@hertfordshirelife.co.uk or write toHertfordshire Life, PO Box 1322, Widmer End, High Wycombe HP15 6YW. Please send all submissions by May 4 so we can be sure to include them.
