Nominations are now open for the Kelloggs ASA Swimtastic Awards - which last year saw a winner from Hertfordshire recognised for their outstanding achievements in the pool.

Aimed at amateur swimmers, the awards recognise people of all ages and abilities as well as those responsible for providing learn to swim lessons. The awards are divided into 11 clear categories and recognise achievements made through the Kelloggs ASA Awards Scheme.

In 2010 Little Hadhams Boodhun family took home the silver Swim4Life Family Award after parents Robert & Sahnti learnt to swim and they can now all swim together as a family.

This year, winners will be invited to a special awards ceremony at a bigger venue - Ponds Forge, Sheffield on the 5th November 2011. Here they will be able to join Britains top aquatic athletes in the pool before receiving their awards at a celebration dinner and disco in the evening.

Double Olympic medallist David Davies said, Swimming has played a large role in my life and Im sure people get as much enjoyment out of swimming as I do, which is why theKelloggs ASA Swimtastic Awards are so great.

The event highlights heart-warming, courageous and motivational stories of the people involved and celebrates what the sport has done for different people at different levels.

Katie Brazier, the ASAs Sponsorship Director, said, The ASA organises the Kelloggs ASA Swimtastic Awards because it is a great opportunity for us tocelebrate amazing achievements in the pool.
We know there are thousands of unsung swimming stars out there and so we are looking forward to receiving lots of nominations!

Bruce Learner, Head of Corporate Responsibility & Partnerships at Kelloggs said, These swimming awards recognise those special people who have achieved a little more than the rest of us in the pool. Its a fantastic event where we hear such inspirational stories so make sure you nominate someone close to you for your chance to join the celebrations!
