HERTFORDSHIRE Life has joined forces with St Albans Chamber of Commerce to become one of the sponsors of its new Business Awards.

The awards, split into six categories, aim to recognise outstanding contribution to our business community and are not based solely upon success and achievements but also upon the beneficial impact of those achievements. They are open to all individuals and businesses whose business strategy encompasses policies and projects that have a positive impact on the St Albans district.

The awards are divided into six categories: New Business Award, sponsored by Handelsbanken; Young Person Award, sponsored by McKeowns Solicitors; Corporate Social Responsibility Award, sponsored by Lloyds TSB Commercial; Restaurant Award, sponsored by Hertfordshire Life magazine; Green Award, sponsored by St Albans City and District Council; and the Presidents Award, which will be chosen by the President of the St Albans District Chamber of Commerce.

The Restaurant Award aims to promote all restaurants in the district and to celebrate our good fortune in having such a fantastic choice and diverse range of good restaurants in our area. So we want to hear from you – nominate your favourite restaurant and you could win a meal for four people in the winning restaurant in our prize draw.

The top three restaurants from your nominations will then be judged on the following criteria: value for money; diners’ expectations met; environment and décor; level of service; overall experience.

How to enter
To nominate your favourite restaurant simply tell us who you are nominating, and your reasons, and email the details along with your full name, address and contact telephone number to clare.bourke@archant.co.uk or post your nomination to Hertfordshire Life Restaurant Award, PO Box 1322, Widmer End, High Wycombe HP15 6YW by the closing date of July 31.

For criteria and entry details for all other categories, call Lisa Bates at the Chamber of Commerce on 01727 863054 or log on to www.stalbans-chamber.co.uk and click on St Albans Chamber of Commerce Awards. The winners of all six categories will be presented with their awards at a Presentation Dinner at the Old Albanians Sports Club on September 25.
