PUPILS and staff at Thorn Grove Primary School in Bishops Stortford are celebrating the installation of a brand new canopy to complement the schools highly successful Foundation Stage outdoor area.

Designed, manufactured and fitted by school specialists Able Canopies, the durable structure enables the children of Thorn Grove Primary to enjoy the outdoors with UV protection from the sun and shelter from the rain.

Philippa Roy-Chowdhury, headteacher at the 220 pupil primary school, is delighted with the installation. She said, Foundation staff have created such an exciting environment for learning within the classroom and now the children have a space for outdoor learning opportunities too whatever the weather.

The Parents and Teachers Association worked hard to raise funds through various events, including discos, fayres, fashion evenings and a pop quiz while pupils did their bit with a sponsored Wellie Walk.
