On a family-run fresh produce nursery in St Albans, the smart new Smallford Farm Shop offers many of the best tastes of Herts
The eagerly anticipated Smallford Farm Shop on the eastern edge of St Albans has officially opened its doors. It offers (deep breath) fresh homegrown produce, condiments, oils, a cheese counter serving a range of British cheeses, a deli counter with a selection of artisan cured meats, fresh cakes, bread, smoked fish and confectionery. It has a lovely café too and children's play area where you can enjoy a cup of award-winning Twist Tea and one of the scrumptious treats made by Ella Rose Cakes.
The shop also offers a selection of brands and products made by passionate Herts producers, driven by a belief in celebrating good quality, small artisans. It's great to see produce from Glinwell, Cannatella & Colletti, Hedges Farm, Seven Seeded Artisan Bakery, Rollagranola, Hibiscus Lily, Blackbridge Gin, Campfire Gin, Three Brewers and Farr Brew for sale.
On the site of a family-owned fresh produce nursery, Smallford Farm Shop has its roots in the traditional market style method of selling produce to local customers from pallets.
The shop is open Monday to Saturday 9am-5.30pm and Sunday from 10am-4pm. The café is open Monday to Saturday from 8am-5pm and Sunday from 9am-4pm.
Fnd the shop on Hatfield Road, AL4 0HE and check out the website smallfordfarmshop.com – it's definitely worth a visit.
