Sharon Struckman thinks she’s found the perfect Christmas turkey for your festive lunch

I've found the perfect turkey for your Christmas dinner. Jonathan Lear of Potash Farm Foods in Tring brought home three gold stars in this year's Great Taste Awards. The birds are all free range, bronze turkeys - a slower growing breed which love to roam around the orchard and fields on the farm in the wonderfully named hamlet of Gubblecote near Tring. Jonathan lets the turkeys grow to full maturity, developing into succulent, flavoursome birds.

The meat is traditionally matured for flavour and firm texture, the farm then processes the birds, and they are oven-ready and boxed with cooking instructions, ready for collection on December 23 and 24. Jonathan and his team are dedicated to the health and welfare of all their livestock, so you receive only the best and tastiest meats.

Jonathan started the company after completing a degree in agriculture at Reading University in 2006 and spotting a niche in the market for a local quality poultry producer. He works jointly on the farm with his father.

The farm also sells chickens all year round to local butchers and farm shops in Hertfordshire as well as Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire and direct from the farm at Christmas.

To order your turkey and other festive meats, go to or find Potash Farm Foods on social media.
