Sheene Mill at Melbourn, near Royston, has been awarded two AA rosettes for its food less than two years after the arrival of a new team led by former TV chef Steven Saunders, daughter Serena and Serena’s partner Adam Jordan
The restaurant, four-star boutique hotel and wedding venue (thesheenemill.com) is set in landscaped gardens by the River Mel. Head chef is Ivor Morgan.
The two-rosette award recognises ‘excellent restaurants that aim for and achieve higher standards and...a greater precision is apparent in the cooking’.
