The Hertfordshire-based Campaign for Real Ale (Camra) is celebrating the success of the second Harpenden Beer and Cider Festival.

The Hertfordshire-based Campaign for Real Ale (Camra) is celebrating the success of the second Harpenden Beer and Cider Festival, with visitors treated to a wide variety of beer, real cider and perry, plus a selection of bottled beers from around the world. Some 7,800 pints of beer and 1,100 pints of real cider and perry were drunk.
Two local brewers won awards in the Beer of the Festival competition, with Red Squirrel of Hertford taking second place for its London Porter and Tring Brewery of Tring scoring with its Colleys Dog premium ale. First prize went to Dark Star Brewery of Partridge Green, Sussex, for its American Pale Ale.
