The new bar and restaurant opened in the old Town Hall building this month

With a generous helping of opulence, the ground floor of the historic former town hall building on Berkhamsted High Street has been transformed into a new independent bar and restaurant called Copper House.

All Gothic arches, inky blues, copper (of course), plush fabrics and orchids, the backers say they are 'realising their dream to create a welcoming place to meet, eat and drink of the highest quality – all housed in a striking listed location'.

Customers at the just-opened venue (launch night was April 17) are promised gourmet food plus 'masterfully created cocktails and a range of champagnes served in a social, sharing style'.
