Residents at The Grove in Chandler’s Cross can now book a lovingly-prepared outdoor picnic in the hotel’s beautiful grounds

One of the first things we do when the weather warms up is plan a picnic. The Grove in Chandler’s Cross near Watford now offers a picnic experience, set in the 300-acre grounds, and all you have to do is sit down and tuck in.

Opt for the Ultimate Picnic (at £37 per person) and enjoy mozzarella and tomato salad, a charcuterie platter, cheese and ham ploughman’s, Scottish smoked salmon, salads, a selection of cakes and strawberries with cream.

Your picnic can even come in the form of an afternoon tea (for £32 per person) with a selection of tempting sandwiches, scones with homemade lemon curd, strawberry jam and clotted cream, a selection of cakes, strawberries and cream and your choice of tea or coffee.

All picnics are attractively arranged with picnic blankets, plush cushions, wicker picnic baskets and all the crockery and accoutrements to ensure a relaxing afternoon spent eating and drinking – and not worrying about anything else!

Picnics are available until the end of September for hotel residents and should be booked one day in advance
