A limited run of 425 bottles of ‘1594 Spirit of Box Moor’ will be produced
Puddingstone Distillery near Tring has teamed up with the Box Moor Trust to create a limited edition gin celebrating the charity's 425th anniversary. Using rare juniper cultivated on the trust's land, the distillery has created 425 bottles of '1594 Spirit of Box Moor' at 42.5 per cent ABV. Each of the bottles features a numbered paper tag made from used gin botanicals, handmade at nearby Frogmore Paper Mill.
The trust manages nearly 500 acres of grazing and amenity land on the outskirts of Hemel and Bovingdon, with a remit to maintain the area's natural environment and wildlife on behalf of the local community.
Ben Marston, who runs the distillery with his wife Kate, said, 'Many gins produced in England use juniper from eastern Europe, so it's fantastic to have produced our latest gin using juniper grown just a few miles down the road.'
