THE White Horse in historic Shenley, near Radlett, has reopened after a major refurbishment by the Warwickshire-based Classic Country Pub Design Company.
The emphasis is on an organic, earthy dcor with log fires, leather couches, teak tables and exposed beams in the interior. The pub seats 90 in the dining area, and further seating for up to 100 on the terrace in summer. Menu specialities under the guidance of head chef Steve Fowler include fillet steak with horseradish mash and baby spinach, quattro formaggi pizza, lasagne with chicken, blue cheese and spinach, and duck confit with honey and orange-roasted roots.
