A BEER tasting evening on June 5 and a wine tasting on July 17 are among special events this summer at the Cowper Arms in Cole Green, Hertford, which has reopened after a refurbishment of the interior to give it more of a traditional, cosy, local pub feel.
A spring menu prepared by head chef John Robinson has also been introduced. New additions include spiced crab and crayfish cocktail (5.50), roast British chicken supreme stuffed with sun blushed tomatoes with a black olive and basil compote (10.50), apple and Scottish gooseberry crumble with custard (4.75) and a variety of sandwiches and lighter bar snacks.
Ales on offer include Timothy Taylor Landlord, Wells Bombardier and Adnams Best Bitter.
