TV chef Paul Bloxham, who runs The Tilbury pub in Datchworth, is backing his self-confessed passion for the chip as an advocate of National Chip Week from February 9-15.
Paul says, 'There are so many ways to enjoy this delicacy, from the home-made traditional version to spiced oven chips. It doesn't surprise me we all love them so much - fluffy inside, crisp and golden outside and all the goodness of potatoes!'
Paul's tips include serving chips with pollock, bream, snapper or sole for a tasty and eco alternative to cod or haddock, and seasoning them with one tsp each of celery salt, chilli powder, paprika, cumin, salt and pepper for an extra kick.
