The Hertfordshire company has been highly praised at the 2019 Great Taste Awards

Moreish, stupendous and fabulous - just some of the adjectives the judges at the 2019 Great Taste Awards used to describe Woodford and Warner's classic English sticky toffee pudding which was awarded two gold stars. Judges also awarded a gold star to its Soursop ice cream, a novel flavour introduced from the Caribbean.

Woodford & Warner is located in Letchworth with origins dating back to downtown Port of Spain in the 1930s. It makes a premium range of delicious cordials, jellies, sorbets and now award-winning pudding and ice-cream. The homemade products contain no additives or preservatives and their superior flavour and quality can be attributed to the use of 100 per cent natural, gluten free ingredients. The magic ingredient is the Hibiscus Sabdariffa flower (known as sorrel in the Caribbean), and the health benefits are amazing, says W&W founder Sarah Moore. It's high in vitamin C which reduces inflammation and fights infection, has antibacterial properties and is a gentle laxative and diuretic that relieves constipation and bloating. It has the highest levels of antioxidants of any widely available food and is rich in anthocyanins which reduce blood pressure and cholesterol.

Available in Halsey's Deli and The Little Deli, both in Hitchin. Go to woodfordandwarner.com for more details.
