Looking for that special gift for your little one this Christmas? If he or she is a lover of ballet, why not treat them to a magical Ballet Weekend, courtesy of leading dance and performing arts school, Tring Park School for the Performing Arts.

The school is inviting local children aged 8-16 years to attend their Christmas Party Ballet Weekend from Friday 17th December to Sunday 19 December 2010.

The magic begins when the children enter the beautiful Rothschild mansion, which now houses the school, where a floor to ceiling Christmas tree will set the scene. They will be given an opportunity to meet new friends over a dormitory feast before retiring to bed ready for the excitement of the weekend ahead.

The next morning, the children will have the opportunity to attend ballet lessons, in groups according to their age and experience in the schools dance studios, tutored by Tring Parks dance teachers.

After lunch all of the children will be taken to the London Coliseum to see the English National Ballets new production of Nutcracker, specially created by Artistic Director, Wayne Eagling.

On the way home from the theatre, the children will have a picnic supper on the coach and hot chocolate, and goodies as they return to the Mansion for another sleep-over.

Sunday starts with a good breakfast before classes and rehearsals begin and will continue all morning with some rehearsals in the Markova Theatre.

After a fantastic Christmas lunch the children will begin final preparations for their own mini Nutcracker performance. Parents are invited to go straight to the Markova Theatre for a 3pm performance.

After the performance, everyone with gather around the Christmas tree in the Mansion for mince pies and carols. Santa will visit with a present for each child while parents are treated to mulled wine and mince pies.

The weekend also includes a competition where the children are invited to bring a drawing depicting an aspect of Nutcracker with them. All drawings will be entered in to a competition with a special prize awarded over the weekend. The weekend finishes about 4.15pm on the Sunday - just ready for the real Christmas to begin!

The price of the Christmas Party Ballet Weekend is 215 and places are limited. For further information visit http://www.tringpark.com/b04.php or call 01442 821652.
