Rebecca expands to Stable Yard

Having found success with her interiors shop and day spa in Old Welwyn, Rebecca Clark Interiors has opened a second store - a stand-alone interiors boutique - in the Stable Yard shopping quarter at Hatfield House. The business, established in 2012, sells furnishings, lighting and accessories for both home and commercial projects. Services have grown to include interior design, bespoke furniture sourcing and gifts.

Talking about her ethos, Rebecca (pictured) says, ‘I take pride in creating spaces and lifestyles that work for the people who live in them, with pieces that will stand the test of time. People come in and might buy a gift and then I get a call asking to design their house, for me that’s the best compliment of all.’

Radlett-based interior designer Beverley Barnett - known for maximising light and space - has added a new service to her business. After expanding her team, the British Institute of Interior Design member is now able to supply interior architectural design drawings. The service encompasses space planning, power, audio-visual and lighting layouts as well as detailed drawings for bespoke pieces such as a staircase, front door or wall units to form part of a project tender and construction package.

‘These services, coupled with selecting just the right choice of fabrics, colours and textures, provides an overall design service that is second to none,’ Beverley says.

Luxury Christmas in Hitchin

A boutique inspired by India will mark its first anniversary with a Christmas shopping evening.

Jiva Boutique on Hermitage Road in Hitchin sells homewares and gifts, spices, teas from brands including Penhaligon’s and Kama Ayurveda, as well as jewellery and beauty products from premium British brands with Indian trade routes & ingredients.

Owner Tim was struck by the beauty of the country on a trip to Mumbai and became interested in Ayurveda, a centuries-old system of therapies and practices which balances the mind, body and spirit. ‘We wanted to add something to Hitchin by housing brands that can only be found further afield in places like Covent Garden and Mumbai. We have already had such a wonderful response from our customers, who either have their own unique bond with Indian culture or are just intrigued and looking to discover something new.

For luxurious and original gift ideas, head to Jiva’s Christmas shopping event on December 1 from 6-8pm. There will be 20 per cent off across the store and complimentary canapes and bubbly to get you into the festive spirit.
