In just nine years, 27 year-old Mark Corr from St Albans has progressed from mowing lawns to becoming one of the youngest Sales Managers in the UK retail motor industry.

His promotion at Brayley Honda on Hatfield Road means that Mark is now responsible for new and used car sales totalling more than 10 million at the companys dealerships in St Albans and Enfield and newly launched used car operation, Junction 25 Car Sales, also in Enfield. He manages a team of over twenty staff.

Having started his automotive career as a site boy at the Honda business when he was just 18, the former St Albans School pupil has helped propel Brayley Honda to becoming one of the countrys best performing Honda franchises. Its St Albans dealership was voted Runner-Up in the UK Franchised Dealership of the Year category at the recent Motor Trader magazine Awards, for which more than 5,500 businesses were eligible to take part.

In a bid to raise awareness of the new September registration plate and the forthcoming rise in VAT in January 2011, Mark is spearheading a special VIP event at Brayley Honda St Albans on 10-11 September, which will feature of range of new and used vehicles, some offered at cost price.

Visitors over the two-day sale will be offered the chance to win a Honda lawnmower worth over 300 in a prize draw.

Mark Corr, Sales Manager, Brayley Honda St Albans, said:

Im really lucky to work for such a forward looking business that has given me the opportunity to develop my skills. Our September VIP event promises some fantastic savings and well be offering valet parking to our visitors. Theres a great prize draw too which reminds me of my days mowing the grass here, although I dont really have time to do that now!

Commenting on Marks promotion, Paul Brayley, Managing Director, Brayley Honda, said:

A business is only as good as the people it employs and Mark has shown hes got what it takes to be a success. There are very few Sales Managers in their twenties in the motor trade and none that I know of who are responsible for three different locations. Its a testament to his dedication and ambition that Mark has got where he is and Brayley Honda is all about giving its staff the opportunity to progress their careers.
