As motorists start to really feel the pinch at the pumps being faced with paying more than 1.30 a litre or a staggering 70 to fill up the average family saloon, alternative fuel options are quickly become appealing. In an effort to help drive cost effective alternatives to the forecourt, Proton is encouraging motorists to consider the benefits of its GEN-2 ecoLogic dual-fuel cars.
Across the UK, LPG (Liquid Petroleum Gas) fuel costs just 74.58 pence a litre,* compared to 132.45 pence a litre* for diesel and 128.10 pence a litre* for unleaded petrol - meaning that the GEN-2 ecoLogic can offer great savings when filling up at the forecourt.
Simon Park, General Manager Sales and Marketing Manager for Proton Cars (UK) Ltd said: Last month costs were driven up due to the cold snap which led to disruption of deliveries around the country this has now been further compounded due to this months 0.76p increase in fuel duties and the higher VAT rate. Now is therefore the time for motorists to really consider alternative fuel options.
Running at a fraction of the cost of either petrol or diesel, and combining both the economical and ecological savings of LPG fuel, the Proton Gen-2 ecoLogic delivers the best of both worlds making it the ideal choice for cost and carbon conscious car owners. Priced from just 9,995 for a 1.6 hatchback, the Proton GEN-2 ecoLogic is significantly cheaper to drive off the forecourt without compromising on quality or reliability.
Simon continued: Because the GEN-2 ecoLogic is sold at the same price as its petrol counterpart, anyone buying a GEN-2 ecoLogic will instantly save between 1,500 and 2,000 the standard price for installing an LPG conversion. As well as this saving the equivalent of the average annual UK council tax and energy bills combined the GEN-2 ecoLogic also comes with a full 3 year/60,000 mile warranty and 3 years free RAC cover.
This, along with an alternative fuel discount of 10 on road tax means that Proton drivers can save their pennies.
Customers purchasing a new ecoLogic under the low rate Proton Finance buy now, pay later scheme, can currently enjoy the luxury of paying nothing until April 2011 in addition to benefiting from a generous deposit allowance of up to 500 towards the LPG dual fuel GEN-2 ecoLogic. The offer ends 31st March 2011.
