Princess Michael of Kent visited the Peace Hospice on June 9, to the delight of Hospice staff and volunteers, to officially open a new extension of its facilities. Princess Michael of Kent who last visited the Peace Hospice ten years ago when she opened the Inpatient Unit, took time out to visit the Hospices new counselling rooms, complementary therapy rooms, a new en-suite family room and additional facilities for children and young people.

The new facilities were provided by a successful million capital grant from the Department of Health. On opening the facilities, Princess Michael of Kent said, As the President of the Peace Hospice, I am very pleased to attend this special occasion in the life of the Hospice. The extension will help to improve the environment in which many of these services are delivered, and thereby improve the experience that the patients, carers, families and clients have of the Hospice.
