Football star Patrick Vieira added a dash of celebrity to proceedings when Aldwickbury Park Golf Club hosted the Ian Swanston charity day and auction on October 11. The French World Cup winner and former Arsenal captain was one of 75 golfers who teed up for the competition, in aid of the National Ankylosing Spondylitis Society (NASS), at the clubs Park Course. The ninth annual charity day, in memory of Ian Swanston, raised 4,500 since its inception some 130,000 has been raised by the golf days for the NASS and Crohns & Colitis UK. Anne Swanston, organiser, said, The day was excellent, made even more perfect by the weather. The day is extremely important to my family and me, something I am very proud to host in memory of my late husband Ian, and a day that he would be amazed at because so many people come to support it.
