Celebrity chef, restaurateur and author Gary Rhodes OBE officially opened Haute Quisine, the new practical cookery suite at Queenswood School in Brookmans Park on March 6. The innovative teaching facility has top of the range equipment including a chefs theatre overhead TV screen for demonstrations. It was masterminded by the school and generously supported by parents. It was named Haute Quisine by keen cookery student Hannah Watters, 15, from Wheathampstead, who prepared canaps with her classmates for Gary and 30 guests. Jayne Lee, cookery teacher, is delighted with HQ and said, Food is a huge interest at Queenswood and the girls enthusiasm has been phenomenal. We now have plans to grow our ingredients on the schools allotments. At the opening Gary said, It is so inspiring to see so much enthusiasm from all involved, and to discover a kitchen so sensibly designed and beautifully crafted.
