The first event in Hertford Town Councils summer programme takes place on Sunday May 13 when Hertford Castle will be open to visitors, with a range of activities and entertainment for all ages in the Castle grounds. The free event runs from noon to 4pm.
Inside the castle, members of the Friends of Hertford Castle will be on hand to share their knowledge of the historic building with visitors. The afternoon provides opportunity for people to see the towns regalia, treasures and photographs.
Hertford Castle has a rich history, and even those who have visited before are bound to find out something they didnt know about its past. There will also be informative, guided tours of the Castles 12th Century walls.
Outside in the castle grounds, Backwoods Falconry will give falconry displays at 1 and 3pm and 2nd Bengeo Scouts will be providing refreshments.
Children will be able to make a finger puppet to take home, and have their faces painted. And providing the rain stops for an afternoon, there will be a bouncy castle and Kids Karting outside!
