An exhibition of work by Krysia Michna-Nowak and Anne Songhurst, titled Take a Second Look, takes place in the Art Gallery of Letchworth Museum in May.
Two highly respected local artists with very different painting styles join forces in an art exhibition that encourages visitors to Take a Second Look.
Neither artist has been to art school, but they have developed strong and striking styles that produce beautiful images. Their paintings are much admired, and the exhibition promises to be a visual feast.
Krysia Michna-Nowak specialises in painting decorative women and quirky cats using her own style and method of mono-printing to create unique mixed media works.
A professional artist since the age of 15, Krysia was born in England to Polish parents and her art has been influenced by Polish culture.
Anne Songhursts oil-on-board still lives are inspired by the work of Dutch and Flemish Old Masters. Rich detail and colour seek to express an atmosphere of stillness and a timeless quality. Both artists have exhibited locally and nationally.
Some of the paintings on show will be available for sale during the exhibition, which opens on May 8 and runs until June 5.
Letchworth Museum, Broadway, Letchworth Garden City, is next to the Public Library, and open from 10am - 5pm daily (except Wed and Sun). Admission Free.
