The TV cameras will be rolling as The Dressing Room boutique in St Albans hosts a charity fashion show to celebrate its 5th birthday. The event on Thursday May 20 is being held in conjunction with Stacey Dooley Investigates on BBC3.
The evening will consist of fashion, luxury goody bags, a charity raffle with incredible prizes, champagne and cocktails all evening.
The Dressing Room opened in May 2005 as a small store on Holywell Hill in St Albans. Since opening it was awarded Best New Fashion Business at the Drapers Awards 2006 shortly followed by an expansion to a larger store on St Albans High Street in October 2006.
In 2007 a personal styling service and home shopping/party service - The Dressing Room To You was launched and further expansion followed in 2008 with the launch of the shoe lounge in store.
In November 2009 the store was recognised as the Independent Womenswear Retailer of the Year at the Drapers Fashion Awards.
Ten per cent all sales from the event and all the money raised from the ticket sales will go to Stacey Dooleys chosen charity which will be a non-government organisation (NGO) working in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
Stacey is a valued member of The Dressing Room team yet also travels the world investigating issues regarding child labour for BBC3 documentary series Stacey Dooley Investigates.
Staceys latest film investigates children in conflict/child soldiers in DR Congo. The money raised from this charity event will go directly towards helping young teenage children to turn their backs on life as soldiers.
Tickets, available from the shop or on 01727 853577, go on sale on May 1 at 10 each.
The event stars promptly at 7pm. Please be aware that BBC3 will be filming on the night, so anyone attending will be asked to sign a consent form.
