Hertfordshire County Show volunteers gain Queen's honours

THE Stewards of the Hertfordshire County Show at Redbourn have been announced as one of 103 UK volunteering groups to win this year's Queen's Award for Voluntary Service, the MBE for volunteer groups.

THE Stewards of the Hertfordshire County Show at Redbourn have been announced as one of 103 UK volunteering groups to win this years Queens Award for Voluntary Service, the MBE for volunteer groups.
The prestigious honour recognises outstanding contributions made to local communities by groups voluntarily devoting their time for the benefit of others. The Stewards of the Hertfordshire County Show have received the award for their collective support and contribution to the show.
The Stewards will receive a certificate signed by the Queen and an exclusive commemorative crystal, presented by Her Majestys representative in Hertfordshire, the Countess of Verulam. The group has also received an invitation for representatives to attend a Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace in the summer.
Matthew Carter, Chief Steward at Hertfordshire County Show, said, We are both thrilled and humbled to have received this prestigious honour.
