Representatives of tourist attractions, service providers and small businesses were at the Mercure Letchworth Hall Hotel to hear plans by the Hertfordshire Hoteliers Association to boost tourism growth in the county

The group, set up in 1997, represents some two dozen members including Ibis, Holiday Inn, Luton Hoo and Hanbury Manor, and, reflecting growth in tourism in Hertfordshire, is widening its membership to include all sectors of the hospitality industry from local food providers to sports clubs.

HHA chairman and general manager of Stevenage Novotel Eric-Enno Snel said the association promotes the wealth of places for visitors to stay and helps to ensure best practice is followed.
‘To complete that picture, it makes sense to bring in as many other industry members as we can. With associate members on board, we can promote Hertfordshire even more than we have been doing, develop local working partnerships and develop a budget to promote county tourism,’ he said.
