Those attracting tourists to Hertfordshire were celebrated at a ceremony at Hanbury Manor in Ware. The Hertfordshire Tourism Awards recognised the best in eight categories, including a special award for London Colney’s Willows Activity Farm (pictured above) for its charity work with the Family Holiday Association to give struggling families days out.
The awards were launched by Visit Herts in 2017 to reward outstanding visitor experiences and customer services in the county. More than 4,500 members of the public voted for their favourites, which were shortlisted by an independent panel.
Deirdre Wells, CEO of Go To Places which runs Visit Herts, said: ‘We’ve had some really exciting winners from wonderful food and drink providers to exciting attractions – all of whom are providing a world class service to our customers; really helping to grow the economy in Hertfordshire.’
The winners: Rest Your Head Award – Hertford Camping and Caravanning Club Site, Hertford; Taste and Tell Award – Brewery Tearooms, Walkern; Big Sleep Award – The Grove, Watford; Big Day Out Award – Warner Bros. Studio tour, Leavesden; Hidden Gem Award – Shepreth Wildlife Park; Raising the Bar Award – The Bricklayers Arms, Flaunden; Lasting Impression Award – Broadway Cinema and Theatre, Letchworth.
