THERE were smiles all round as the winners in the St Albans District Chamber of Commerce Community Business Awards picked up their awards.

THERE were smiles all round as the winners of the St Albans District Chamber of Commerce Community Business Awards 2009 were revealed. All those shortlisted in the six categories of the awards enjoyed a three course dinner at the Old Albanians Sports Club in Harpenden Road before the winners were finally announced by Chamber president Graham Lane.

The winners were:

Young Person of the Year, sponsored by Oaklands College - Winner: Nikki Petken of S A Law; Runners up: Lok Ming Fung of Trestle Theatre; Umesh Dalal of The Noke Hotel

New Business, sponsored by the University of Hertfordshire - Winner: Static Productions; Runners up:; Palms Beach Caf

Corporate Social Responsibility, sponsored by Connect St Albans - Winner: Levy Associates; Runners up: SA Law; St Albans School

Green Award, sponsored by St Albans District Council - Winner: AECOM; Runners up: Earthworks; Scurr & Partners

Restaurant of the Year, sponsored by Hertfordshire Life Magazine - Winner: Bangkok Lounge; Runners up: Lussmanns; The Brasserie at Sopwell House

President's Award, sponsored by the St Albans District Chamber of Commerce - Winner: John Stocker MBE; Runners up: Phil Gibson; Lawrence Levy
