A TOUCH of glamour was brought to the Watersmeet Theatre in Rickmansworth with the Rags to Riches Fashion Show, a joint volunteering project created by Three Rivers Volunteer Centre and involving the National Youth Volunteering Programme. The fashion show was held to develop new and creative volunteering opportunities in the local area as well as raise awareness and money for local charity shops Sue Ryder, Oxfam and Help the Aged.
The team behind the show sourced clothing and inspiration from the local charity shops in Rickmansworth as well as the recycling centre WRAP in Watford and any other clothing they could find from their friends and family.
Ann Riley-Braley, fashion stylist and life coach, and Helen Norman, colour analyst and image consultant, acted as mentors to help find hidden treasures.
On the night guests were treated to collections of eclectic funk, celebrity glam, fairytale frocks, heirloom bling and new rock chic. The event raised 1,770 to share between the charities.
