TV fitness expert and BBC Radio presenter Nana Akua recommends a regime that combines fitness with wellness
For many, January is the month the fitness regime kicks in. Plans in place and promises to oneself made, off we trot with our goal to attend the gym at least three times a week. This is all well and good, but have you created an overall regime?
Fitness is about maintaining good bodyweight and healthy diet, but often we neglect our personal wellbeing and support elements. I went in search of a place in Herts that combines all these factors and came across Breathing Space in Harpenden, a double nominee in the Professional Beauty Awards 2015.
Breathing Space (pictured above) offers a variety of yoga and Pilates classes, in particular Ashtanga Yoga and Reformer Pilates, the buzz words of the moment. The latter is excellent for supporting other health activities and helping your body recover from the stress of exercise. Personal training, massage, physiotherapy, osteopathy, baby massage, children’s yoga, nutrition and foot care, plus spa and beauty treatments, are also available.
Owner Jane Lunn said, ‘Fitness and wellbeing are about feeling fit and healthy as well as looking good. Breathing Space gives you the opportunity to enjoy working on all these elements’. For more information, go to breathingspacespa.co.uk – it’s definitely worth checking out.
Trainer tip Fitness and wellness are a lifestyle, so throw away the scales, and let mirrors, clothes and feelings reflect your progress.
