St Albans Fashion Week director Ellena Ophira celebrates a distinctive Watford coat company
One of the best things about running St Albans Fashion Week is the fabulous new retailers that I get to meet. We were very lucky this year to have been approached by Watford coat company Grace & Oliver, and its online store is the essential place to start your hunt for the perfect winter coat.
With ‘traditional tailoring, timeless style and high fashion,’ as the ethos, you know you are in for a treat as you start browsing the collection.
Each piece is a fashion statement, taking into consideration a plethora of styles, shapes and tastes. All the coats are distinctive, with each one given its own name, so you’re bound to find one (or two!) to fall in love with.
Here are three of my favourite styles Grace & Oliver has on offer. Keep checking the website graceandoliver.london for the latest.
My top tip for coat buying: Invest in a quality piece that makes you feel great. Take extra good care of it; get it dry cleaned at the end of the season and hang it on a good hanger to keep its shape, ready for next year.
1. Alice £395. Taking block colouring to an art form, this coat is as sleek as it is elegant. Its neat silhouette is super-stylish.
2. Jasmine £395. This piece is bold, bright and beautiful. Perfect for this season’s layering trend. Team with black long sleeves to make the most out of this sensational colour.
3. Kitty £695. Simultaneously ladylike and cosy, this coat is a lovely choice this winter. Its leaf motif is subtle with soft autumnal hues.
